There are multiple reasons why the PTBs are trying to ban TikTok. This is by no means the major one, but there is little doubt that these critiques on TT are cutting into marketing shares.

A lot of money gets spent to convince people to buy products by exploiting insecurities, just to have an intelligent teenager pick it apart and say "NOPE!"

There are several not strictly necessary industries the economy is deoendent on. The beauty industry is one of them. Women could literally crash the economy by not participating in it across the board.

I think the younglings are well aware of it and intend to fling their "wooden shoes" into the "machinery" to disrupt it.
