Can't speak to how the courts work over there, but here (US) over 90% of custody decisions are made by the divorcing couple in mediation and negotiation BEFORE they set foot in court. Very few divorce cases actually go to "trial". So this narrative that women are disproportionately using the court system to get even with their exes doesn't hold water. It happens in a very small percentage of cases, but it does the other way around too. But over 90%, the couple chooses and the men are not choosint childcare.
