The Taos pueblo community is similarly admirable. Everyone contributes to the upkeep of the pueblo. They don't need much paid work to get by, but no doubt everyone works. The artisanship and craftsmanship is exquisite.

You see some of the same in Amish communities but they don't live as communal in most senses, even though they are definitely a closed community.
