The proble. With humble brags is that they tend to be about things nearly everyone does, suggesting all sorts of things good and bad.

Flashy ring on your finger. Are you surprised to get a ring? Did you think we would be surprised you got a ring? Is the ring more than you hoped for? Are you settling? And so forth and so on.

Humble brags should be unexpected.

I've actually got one for you. The Urchling and I are pleased to announce that the Joopster is not going to die. We have gotten her 2nd set of x-rays and her medication is working.

That's a good humble brag cause it's unexpected and subtle. It also doesn't leave you hanging.

Perception is 9/10ths of everything.
