The other thing you never hear about is the massive number of women who experienced violence at the hands of an intimate partner or family member ... and left. And never went back. The story is ALWAYS about the ones who stayed, for whatever reason.

All the follow-up thinking about what happened after the violence is just assumed. There are plenty aplenty of women who's dates got rough with them and they broke up with them pretty immediately (as soon as they were safe and no alone with the guy).

It does become increasingly harder the more involved you are by marriage and kids. You can't just leave them in the dust.
