The ick is an interesting concept. The ick is when one has been subjected to the lunatic ravings of people who have no business dating in the first place to the extent that the mere though of dating leaves them feeling “icky". Like you’ve just trudged through some foul smelling swamp and gotten all the leeches pulled off and some inconsiderate asshole had the nerve to suggest you go back in.

You’ve been through the ringer dating-wise and can’t get excited by the prospect of yet another round.

Like some asshole shoves you into a public pool where the water is purple, not blue, because a pack of people who can’t control themselves all peed in it. Ewww.

When one finds themselves experiencing the Ick, it’s best to take a break from dating, go to courtship rehab, spend some time doing things you actually enjoy doing, and not start peeing in the pool yourself just because everyone else is.
