The far left and the far right will never be able to have that conversation. They’re both too mired in political tribalism and finger pointing. It’s sad and frustrating.

Personally, I’ve always been a big fan of cooperatives, employee owned business, and not-for-profits. For example, a lot of our food desert issues could be outright solved or alleviated by a not for profit, community owned and operated food cooperative.

There are plenty of good nonpartisan ideas out there. We have the means. We lack the will and that’s on us.

As for the govt gridlock, we can vote them all out. All of them and start over. We need to figure out ways to stop the flow of money to the top and reverse the flow for a while. We need a new political party, maybe term limits.

There are things we can do. We can’t do them until we stop letting them turn us against each other and deal with all the trash propaganda. That too, is on us. We have the capacity. We need the will. Ultimately you cannot govern without consent of the governed. We need to stop consenting. And not be passive about it.
