The aftermath of a sexual assault feels like having been shoved off a cliff face and abandoned on a small ledge with no gear. The worse the assault, the smaller the ledge.

Having someone see you means help *might* be coming after you've already screamed yourself mute, are dehydrated, and haven't eaten or slept in days all on top of your injury from the fall.

Sooner or later everyone thinks, "why not just jump and get it over with? I'm going to fall sooner or later anyway."

I get what you're saying about not tooting your own horn and you're right, its rarely a good look when people do that. It's not always easy, walking the tightrope of appearing self promoting and speaking to help based on personal experience.
