That’s true for the loudest and proudest bawling all over the media like deranged mules. But, as with a lot of other things, there are a lot of more sophisticated and reflective folk quietly in the background that support 2nd Amendment carte blanche and revere the NRA.

Ultimately, they’re the ones pulling the strings. The mulish illiterate are for the most part a nuisance and a distraction.

There are even more, like me, who support the 2nd Amendment, but not carte blanche. We recognize the need for and want reasonable restrictions. For me, that starts with banning the sale of weapons of war on the civilian market. It’s reasonable and it’s needed to reduce the collateral damage of street violence and mental health crises. It does not violate the 2nd amendment because one does not need an assault rifle to hunt or protect themselves, their family, or their home and property. A regular rifle, shotgun, or handgun will serve those purposes just fine.
