That's sounds like a push from the lawyers.

They're supposed to represent you, and they do, but they're also looking to make money. Best way to do that is by reducing billing hours, like by getting you to settle quickly.

Spouses get the same treatment during divorce and moms get pushed toward low child support or giving up on alimony, even if she's been a stay at home mother for years and is now effectively out of the job market.

It's all psrt of the same system, but that's not preference shown to mothers, that's preference toward capitalism.

It could also be argued that before a lawyer is willing to stick his/her neck out for a paternal client, they want to test how serious the father is and whether or not there are ulterior motives. And let's be real, if a man was serious about wanting to parent, he wouldn't cave under the first suggestion that it wasn't going to just be handed to him.

Most people, when they really want something, don't easily accept a no.

Just saying.
