That's reductive and too easy a brush off. Almost everyone is raised and has always been raised by a woman. So mothers with extended familial support and help tend to have the most well balanced children. By almost every standard, these are the kids that are doing well in life.

Being raised by a woman is not the problem.

The problem is that society has decided to punish mothers in every way they can, especially single mothers. I don't know why nobody thought that though. When you punish mothers, you punish children.

That's why children of single mothers also have the worst outcomes. The lack of support (not just financial), the poverty many fall into, Dad spending more time using the kids to wage war on his ex, being in and out of their lives, the court system, the societal backlash, etc. These kids aren't doing well, and no small wonder.

The biggest common denominator is poverty and lack of financial stability.

Not that you're being raised by a woman.
