That's not true. Nobody gets sympathy for perpetually feeling sorry for themselves. These folks are emotional leeches. There will never be enough sympathy or compassion for them.
And no. The only people who get unconditional "love" and support are babies. Even very small children do not get unconditional love and support. And let's be clear here. When you say unconditional love and support what you mean is to be admired, yawned over, given a cookie, and told repeatedly what a good boy you are no matter what you do or who it harms. You want love and support (somebody to clean up your messes) without responsibility or accountability to anyone else ever. The reason babies get this kind of treatment is because the potential harm they can do is next door to nil.
Are you a baby? Then why would you feel sorry for yourself for not being treated like a baby? If you want to be a grown man, then act like one. Last I checked that doesn't include throwing hissy fits because you're not being treated like a baby. You're being given the respect and dignity of an autonomous adult male who is part of a community.
