That’s not the end all be all as it only works when the other party openly listens as well.
My grandmother always used to say that if you want to tell someone something important you best tell it to them in a language they can understand. There’s a lot of truth to that. No doubt.
But.
It doesn’t matter how openly and honestly you communicate something if the party you’re trying to reach refuses to listen and categorically dismisses your communication due to biased beliefs like that’s what women are for, women need men so they have no choice, I can’t do this homemaking stuff, men just aren’t naturally good at housekeeping and emotions, if I do this I’m a beta, or women are just nags.
There’s truth there too. It’s a hard truth but true nonetheless. If those are your core beliefs, no amount of open and honest communicating is going to change it because deep down, you just dont want to hear it.
