That's maybe not the best way to think about it.

In a way, the idea of being in 'bubbles' is extremely useful. In another way, I dislike this language because it seems to confer some kind of responsibility in some uses where none exists or is extremely.... extremely limited.

For example, the targeted nature of a lot of this vitriol. It's just as much, if not more, likely that you havent seen it much because you haven't been targeted either by the algorithm, marketing propaganda, or people/groups with a political or social agenda as it is that you are in a self imposed "bubble".

One thing you can count on is now that you've run across it and engaged with it (doesn't matter how slight, even writing this article), there will be more. Furthermore, you may have pinged on those agenda types' radar.
