Or does it just show that men are also unhappy by the status quo? Heteronormative marriage as dictates by the church? Being responsible for the care of a woman and a family? The stress of the work grind to uphold civilization? That given other options, they'd choose them over what we have?

The realization that there are simply too many of us on this planet and we need to reduce our numbers? Despite what the capitalists want, which is never ending growth.

I don't see any irony here. I see what was bound to be. It's just that men have never had to fight for autonomy the way that women have. They don't get questioned and scrutinized for how they want to live their lives in the way that women do.
