That's exactly what it means. Total bans are total bans. No exceptions means no exceptions.

And that's exactly what's happening. There are two women in Texas right now that I know of who would have aborted due to complications and they're now fighting for their lives because of the bans. They both wanted their babies. They both are already mothers. They are both being denied care. One has left the state to abort but she likely will be disabled, regardless. It took too long, she's already lost most of her eyesight. She likely won't recover much.

Also, it should be the woman’s decision in conjunction with the advice of her doctor. Otherwise you’ve created another problem. 60% of all pregnancies are high risk. What if a doctor decides to triage abort all high risk pregnancies? Shouldn’t the woman get to decide if she wants to accept the risk or not?

What about if the doctor decides to use that power granted to him by the state to abort based on eugenics principles? Like maybe he doesn’t like fat women and being gross morbid obese and pregnant is high risk. So he aborts all those babies? Or black women, because diabetes is prevalent amongst the black community. That’s high risk. Same with Indigenous women. That’s cool with you? We all know it wouldn’t be the first time.

Maybe just the “feeble" then? That’s code for mentally retarded btw, or disabled. Historically it was also a dog whistle for “loose" women.

I think most of us remember and remember well what happens when doctors, particularly white male doctors, get to decide who deserves a baby and who doesn’t.

I’m not particularly anxious for a repeat of that myself but I see you.

I have a better idea. Why don’t you men mind your business and stop trying to control women.
