That’s abject nonsense.

Valuation requires a certain level of awareness we have no proof exists for animals who haven’t risen to the required level of consciousness to do so. Further, there are many more species who invest only nominally (egg layers) in their offspring than those who invest heavily. They are driven by a biological urge to mate, the same as us. But, there has been no study on what percentage of different species choose to not mate.

We do know that in some bird species, individuals will participate in alloparenting come nesting season and not build and fill a nest of their own.

You shouldn’t use the “that’s biology" argument unless you actually understand biology. Frankly, if you did you’d never make that argument. It won’t hold water.
