That's a good point too. But, you don't have to be a licensed EMT to have some basic training as a medic. Plus, he's 17 so he's too young to be an EMT anyway.
I was thinking more along the lines of a volunteer as support staff for EMTs as part of a youth initiative or something. Such things exist and occur, though usually in more rural areas. I was part of one myself as a teenager. CAP, search and rescue. I did not have a pilot's license and I was not "trained". How much training so you need to walk a search grid under the direction of adults?
Likewisez how much training would a teenager of average intelligence need to hand out water, carry messages, and curry supplies, and slap on bandaids for minor injuries under the direction of licensed professionals?
