That seems to be the working theory. But I can't help it, I think it's equally a cop out that protects men and their feelings from having to come to terms.

Those algorithms are pushing more violent porn sure. But if men weren't picking it up, the algorithm wouldn't work, there would be no money being made, and the businesses would shift to something else that did.

There's simply no getting around the fact that for many, violence and sex are entertwined and for far more men than women.

This doesn't leave many options on the table.

Feminists believe it's all down to patriarchy. That this dynamic comes out in various ways because it's an inherent part of dominance hierarchy. Feminists believe that if the rules were reversed, we women would struggle with not being insufferable douchebags just as much. Because ultimately, that's what all entitlement does. It makes you a user and a taker. A destroyer and a hot mess. Someone best kept at a very firm distance to anyone your entitlement marginalizes. The greater the unchecked entitlement, the greater the need for a safety margin.

That's why there has to be so many checks.

Menists believe this is an inherent part of being male and checks diminish and emasculate the man. They believe they are inherently superior and that's the natural order. They push gender essentialism to the point of ridiculousness.

This really isn't an argument that they want or can afford to win. They won't like the prize. As we can already see very well.

And just because I know somebody wading this far in is going to feel the need to vomit their feelpinions all over the place and blow up my phone doing so.....

There are men who are feminists (or egalitarians) and women who are menists (or authoritarians).

This isn't about one's actual biological sex or gender. It's about those who would use one's biological sex or gender as a dividing line to determine who gets what and who gets to do what to whom.

In other words, it's about sex and gender bullshit, not sex and gender.
