That is weird. I'm not a fan of many of those meds, particularly for kids. I've seen too many medicated kids that ate really just trauma stressed, children of addicts, that sort of thing.

It really disturbs me that psychological drugs are given out like candy to children.

I'm less familiar of the effect in adults. A friend of mine got some Ambien and she said it was like a veil had been lifted off her brain. But again, her problem was more fatigue and stress than ADD or ADHD. She did not get it through prescription. 3 kids, elementary school age, toddler, infant, dud husband in college, again, trying to get a teaching certificate. She's was doing 100% of the caretaking and 75% of the providing. The rest was the husband's parents gifting money to cover bills and her parents helping out with food and miscellaneous.
