That doesn't speak to her qualifications. That speaks to her election war chest and a strategic decision on her part to ascend to the presidency via the vice presidency.

Consider the facts. Who becomes President when the President dies?

The Vice President does by Constitutional law.

And how old was Biden when he became the nominee? And who drove that nomination?

Consider history. America had already failed to elect a woman vice presidential candidate twice and a woman presidential candidate twice. In fact, 32 women through the years have run for office going back to 1872. America has proven itself time and time again to be far too racist and misogynistic to put a woman into high office.

It's a Catch-22. America will not trust women in the oval office until women "prove" they can handle the oval office. But women can't "prove" themselves until they've held the office and the goalposts don't move every time you turn around.

Ergo, the best strategy to putting a woman in the white house is via the vice presidency on the ticket of an aged man presidential candidate and sooner or later one will die in office, the woman VP will take the presidency and have a chance to "prove" women are just as effective leaders as men and finally break that damned glass ceiling.

Or, if he doesn't die in office, gain the presidency as part of his record, the natural momentum that comes from being a VP, and the contacts and support you gain from holding the office. People like stability, they don't like change.

It was a good, solid plan. Unfortunately, as much as people like stability, they like fascism and being a part of personality cults more it seems because two highly qualified women lost to a man who should NEVER have been a serious contender. He's not fit to hold office and everyone who can manage to rub two brain cells together knows it.
