A lot of men would he happier at home and there's a lot of families that would truly thrive for the first time if those roles were reversed.
It wouldn't be like the 50s though. Think small homesteads, even urban ones, or home businesses, small manufacturing centers around the hearth, rather than the other way around.
Best part is, men would still be providing and protecting, so there's no loss of that identity, for those whom it's an intrinsic part of manhood.
