Thanks. I get what you're saying about wars too ... It's a lot to consider, especially as a American. Don't blame anyone for thinking the GI Bill isn't the best option because we seem to be constantly engaging in war. Good point on that one.

That said, you can earn the GI bill via the Coast Guard too, you won't be sent overseas to fight a proxy war, and you save lives instead of take them. With climate change and increasing intensity of storms, the Coast Guard is likely to expand in the coming years so there will be more opportunities there.

I would guess that would be true in other nations too (with a coast) with their version of a Coast Guard.
