What this article leaves out is that the modern interpretation of Masculinity, the "manbox" creates men who far too many men who are neglectful of their children whether they are physically present or not.
How are you supposed to encourage men to be the nurturing fathers children need when everything that is lauded and approved as appropriate manhood is completely anathema to that?
Do we really need to be reminded that the first iteration of "provider and protector" in the modern sense created the Boomer generation????
Do we really need yet another survey of how that worked out here in America?
It's not enough to be sitting up in the house playing king of the castle or Lord of the manor because the Bible said women were to be submissive to your every ridiculous whim as your helpmeet.
That doesn't exactly create strong, functionally adult, well rounded children either.
There is a reckoning that needs to happen. I'm not convinced this article has drawn the correct conclusions.
