Key words there: slightly prefer, meaning it's not a must have or anywhere near the most important thing. Than them: meaning the obvious. If she's 5'2", you're still datable and meet that slightly preferred criteria easily if you're 5'3".

The biggest reason shorter guys have a hard time dating is because they fret about their height, mostly from childhood teasing by predominantly other boys. Same way most.od the flack girls get about their looks comes from other girls.
