Social skills are an integral part of being tough, emotionally literate, and self sufficient. You literally cannot be any of those things without at least some degree of social skills.

The problem is not that they aren’t being taught social skills. They have the same opportunities to learn them as girls do, you pick them up as you go along. It’s not like there’s secret knowledge being withheld from men and boys.

The problem is that they’re specifically taught not to value them and the BIG LIE that devaluing them will magically grant you those things (toughness, resiliency, emotional control, and self reliance) that in truth are fundamentally dependent on developing social skills.
