So what? I hunt better than you. I feed the people. You work metal better than me. Your design puts a roof over the head of the people.
Which of us is more important than the other? Who deserves more?
That's dominance hierarchy thinking.
And it's bullshit.
Both of us depend on the little orphaned 5 year old to take care of us as we age. Why should that child, who has future value, receive less food, less care, less respect, and less resources just to feed our egos? He/she shouldn't receve less or be perceived as less than just because their time to contribute has not arrived yet. If we make sure the child is cared for and get over our damn selves, we need not worry that it won't balance out and we will somehow be "cheated". We'll all share equally, because we're all important and we're all cared for.
That's egalitarian thinking.
