So was Skynet. If you’ll recall, it was a defensive AI. Skynet built the Terminators once it determined that humanity would eventually turn against it and try to destroy it.

Even so, forget robots, drones, and all that jazz. Ever see that show Person of Interest? In that one, an intelligent AI used human agents to carry out it’s will.

There’s all sorts of mayhem an AI could do just using the internet.

I get that this is just a thought exercise, though. For me, the truly sad thing is that it would take an AI driven insane for these men to reap some damn consequences of their hate. Because, once again, no matter what they do, we’re not punching back in kind.

I’m starting to wonder about the soundness of that plan. We don’t want the sorts of shit that goes down in Africa, the Middle East, and India to go down here. We don’t want femicide lynchings and “witch" trials again.

All this hate rhetoric is disturbing on a visceral level. There’s an Evangelical preacher advocating murdering women who dare to take leadership positions in the church on Twitter.

Look at the responses you tend to get. And you’re not advocating violence. You’re advocating what basically amounts to the social shunning of entitled men. You get push back from men and women.

Nobody says boo to most of these men talking about hanging women in public, handing them out like candy to “deserving" men, and raping them until they’re dead. Especially other men who claim to not be misogynists.
