So was mine. But, when it comes to certain aspects of my life, having a child was inconvenient. They are a time sink.

I chose that time sink, that investment, to do that for her. And I have no regrets because it was what I wanted. And she's a great kid. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

But no one should be forced to. And systemically, we should be doing things to make it easier to manage, not punishing people and deliberately making it harder. What does that serve?
