So if mom is out of control with the smothering mothering, why isn't dad stepping in to balance things out? Or grandparents?

There's a reason why my grandmothers were such important figures in my life, you know. They stepped in when and how they could to balance out some harmful cultural changes that were happening with the rise of Evangelicalism.

Where are the British Grandmas and Grandpas and Dads and why did everyone leave Mom to do all the things? I see we're quick to blame Mom for over mothering but why did everyone else abandon their posts in the first place that left her in a position to have to do her job AND everyone else's?

The only reason Moms get to be blamed for over mothering is because, more often than not, she's the last one standing. Everyone else absconded from their duty to that child long ago.

And what the hell is going on in schools with this bullying? Who's teaching kids how to deal with bullies? Why are there so many?
