She didn't say white men were the cause of all of India's problems.

She said colonization by white men caused problems for India and her people.

And it did. Undeniably. It caused such extensive problems that even though colonization ended in 1947, India has not yet fully recovered from colonial rule.

That's true of many other places as well. Ethiopia comes to immediate mind.

There's a legacy to colonialism we see played out again and again and again. Famine, poor sanitation, gender based violence, religious violence, in India caste based oppression, lack of access to education and healthcare, high unemployment and unstable employment.
