Sexual assault and harassment is something they do. 😉
The talking they do about it after the accusations fall is a further outrage of denial that usually maligns a victim’s character and gaslighting. That usually propels and empowers other victims to come forward because in and of itself, the character assassinations is yet another crime.
There’s another reason why it comes to light more readily than other forms of corruption. Victims know they are victims. Unlike, victims of fraud or financial crimes who may or may not know for years. Financial crimes are also white collar crimes so the adjudication process is different as they are not assaults. They’re over most people’s heads, so they get less press too.
There are so many reasons why sexual misconduct is a good litmus test for political character.
I agree with you on corruption and politics in general, but I don’t think one excludes the other. Money in politics is a huge factor towards corruption as is a generally uninformed electorate. There are problems with the electoral college and gerrymandering and it may be wise to consider term limits for Congresspersons.
