Serendipity

The manosphere is pushing their narrative hard these days. We ladies know this. We also know the cadence of that insufferable drumbeat is not our lived reality. Not that they’ll ever be convinced; or would even want to be. There’s too much money to be made in misogyny online.

But for the rest of us, our lives are still interspersed with these sweet moments of serendipity, if we have the courage to just let it happen. I had one of these moments recently. If you’ve got some time, I’d like to tell you about it. Come on now, no shame in admitting we’re all voyeurs about a love story or love connection.

I’ve been working a lot of overtime this month. Lot of people take a chunk of their vacation or PTO this time of year after the holidays and that means hours to fill. All hands on deck. Can’t fall behind. Folks are depending on us. It’d been a long hard week, but I was finally heading home. OT puts me on a later bus, which means new people and a different crowd.

I also had to stop by Sprawl-Marts, much to my chagrin. For those who don’t know, that’s what we call Walmart back home in small town America. Get it? It’s because Walmart has sprawled across the face of America like a cancer. Apt, no? I usually try to avoid that festering pustule, I mean store, like the plague that it is but my sweet Joopey Jupe needed something, so I was unhappily sucking it up. I really love that…
