Rossini referred to her book in 2021 as tragically naive. The title is clickbaity, for sure, but it was more about declaring that the gender wars were over meaning that the final nails in the patriarchy we're being driven in.
It was a frustrating book. She managed to put her finger on a cultural shift and point out that in several metrics women were doing better than men. But she missed that a lot of those metrics were dependent on the economy and failed to make the the subsequent and obvious connection that if the economy shifts again, so would fortunes and dynamics between men and women.
Case and point. The Covid pandemic and quarantine hit women a hell of a lot harder than men.
Also, transition to a service economy and shipping manufacturing overseas benefitted women economically more than men. That's part choice though because me won't apply for "pink" jobs when their industry collapses. Many would rather be unemployed or even homeless than take a job in the care industries or as a service worker.
So....
But I get your point about the title. If I was a guy, I'd be grinding my teeth over it too.
