Robots may not be a bad idea. People only ever think in terms of the economic engine, how robots will replace humans, and how will we live.
But robots can free us from dead end industrial and service jobs, or a lot of it.
Them were free to take on other tasks. Like removing forest litter from California so the fires aren't as bad, like restoring clean water to Flint Michigan, like building agroforestry areas, helping farmers convert to more sustainable practices, fighting the rise of pestilence like those flies in Bulkhead City AZ, saving wildlife, getting plastic out of the oceans, figuring out our pollution problem, etc, etc, etc.
It's not like there's a shortage of meaningful work. We just need to change the economic model so doing it doesn't leave s to starve while the ones who hold capital get increasingly rich off our labor.
