Ridiculous. You're projecting. He's not sad and broken hearted because he lost the love his life.
Vartan and Garner are still close. They dates. They didn't click. They went back to being friends and they still are friends.
He got married and was married for a few years but is divorced now.
His character on Alias is stiff, polite, and repressed. Michael Vartan is his own person. He's played many roles. He has tattoos on his forearms, so clearly he's not that stiff.
All in all he seems like a nice guy who's doing fairly well for himself.
He's also not particularly pale. He's around 53, he's just not in the prime of youth any more.
Further, despite the Garner/Affleck divorce, his struggles with alcoholism, and some callous things he has said publicly about their marriage, she may very well view it as a success. She got 3 very beautiful.chikdren out of it, financial stability enough during their early years that she could be the primary caregiver without the worry of tanking her own career by doing so, and they had several good years. Plus, unlike days gone by, she can get out of it once it was no longer working and either try again or just live her life on her own terms. Looks like she moved on easy enough.
It's not fair or right to any of them (all 3) to superimpose your regrets in life onto them. People are different. Things hit different people differently. What's a tragedy for some is a minor inconvenience for others, or just part of life.
