Really? It seems to me the reason it was disorganized was because of Trump.

Have you broken down the play by play?

His son whips up the crowd with anti LGBTQ hate speech and lies, Guliani whips up the crowd with calls for “trial by combat", and then Trump gets up to the podium with more lies and hate. He singles out Mike Pence as a traitor to the cause and a target then he says, “we’re going to march down to the capitol and take back what’s ours.”

This one statement starts the March on the Capitol beyond the bounds of a legitimate protest, names him as leader, and names the objective. Those last two imply that he has a plan and knows how to execute it. Truthfully, he’s always bumbled into things, he’s no strategist. He just tries things to see if he can get away with it. That’s the plan. Being a bad plan, doesn’t mean it’s not plan. It just means that, like his casinos, it’s not likely to be successful. Like his other plans, he sets things in motion and then decamps so when it fails, he can blame someone else. Genius!

So these fools take off. They clamor around, overwhelm security (some of which may have been complicit—under investigation), erect a gallows and a guillotine (have not confirmed the guillotine)— because that’s what you do with traitors, and quickly breach the building.

**To be fair, the gallows was a prop, not a functioning one and the noose was improperly tied. That said, you don’t need a proper noose to hang someone, there are always plenty of trees, you could even do it horizontally (drawing) in a pinch**

Now that they’re in there, they look around for what to do next. But where is Trump? Oh no! We don’t know the plan. Trump is the plan! Where’s Trump? Where do we go from here? What do we do? Which way? How do we get back the election?

So they wander around screaming, harassing security, and taking selfies until finally someone with a slightly larger attention span and a map gets enough attention to remind them that they need to go after certain people and get to the Senate and House chambers to stop the vote certification.

But the delay meant that Congress and Pence had either already been evacuated through the tunnels, removed to more secure locations within the building, or barricaded within their offices.

So the protest turned coup/insurrection devolved into a riot and looting commenced. More selfies.

Really, the only thing missing was a picnic.

It should be noted that pipe bombs were left behind by either white supremacist groups or anarchists as a parting gift. There have been apologists saying that “unlike BLM, these innocent protestors didn’t burn down buildings". But honestly, why would you burn down a building when doing so would make you miss the opportunity to take out some liberal scum? They already knew the targets weren’t in there. And secondly, that any march or protest can be infiltrated by someone or a small group intent on harm.

So things eventually peter out once the National Guard gets there. More complicity from the Trump administration under investigation. Everyone leaves, many whining that they got treated like black people by the police. (😱!) Like, they were the thugs!?! Can you imagine? The nerve of those police.

Still no Trump. He didn’t stand by them after all. But he did send out another lovely video with more of the Big Lie and letting them know how much he loves them and feels their pain. Uh huh.

He loves them all right. From afar. And safety. Plausible deniability, you know. *wink.wink, nudge.nudge*

But it was a sweet gesture.

Bittersweet, like a sad country song.

Cue up How Do I Live Without You?

I imagine they’re all feeling the sting of that little ditty right about now.
