Probably not. I read an article once that pointed out that there are more homes stsnding empty in the US than there are homeless to fill them.

I don't know if that holds true still, but I do know that there aren't enough modest homes being built for lower incomed families because there's not enough peofit in it to entice builders. Also, nearby neighborhoods of more modest "mill" homes bring down prices on McMansions and those owners don't want that. This dynamic is a significant part of the problem with housing and homelessness.
