Plus, historically menc have had the GI Bill available to finance an education a lot longer than it was available to women. Women and African Americans were technically eligible if they served, but often did not receive their benefits due to discrimination.
I agree that the whole educational.system.needs an overhaul, especially in regards to accessibility and funding but let's not ignore that the whole reason why scholarships specifically for women and other minorities were set up and fought for in the first place is because women and minorities did not have the means that men did.
There's nothing in the world stopping men from doing the same now that they're disadvantaged financially. Or, joining the rest of us in making college accessible, affordable, and fair for everyone. Finally.
Though, I suspect, they don't really want that. They want us to be sad for them that they've lost primacy and restore them to it. We need to tread carefully here and make sure we have a firm handle on what their motivations are and whether or not they're in our best interests or will undermine our autonomy and success.
