Other than polar bears, bears eat predominantly plant material, bugs, and fish.

Human beings are not their natural food source.

Ergo, when they see you, they don't jump to "yay! Dinner".

Which bri gs us back to, they don't attack to prey upon you. They will attack in self defense from their point of view.

There have been some rare instances of starving bears eating humans but let's be real here. Starving humans will also cannibalize and eat other humans. So that's not normal. That's extreme.
