Okay, but how does that apply when #NotAllMen-ing a comment I made where I specifically and very clearly put in descriptors eliminating the vast majority of men?
Further, those Reddit threads aren't about "feeling threatened", generally and ambiantly.
They are threats. It's not about how someone feels about a threat. Its about making an actual threat of harm.
Look, if someone calls up a police station anonymously and says, "Yo man, I put a bomb in a county school set to go off sometime tomorrow. Won't that be fun?" The threat is anonymous, and so is the target. Maybe that bomb is at Springfield High. Maybe it's at Moon Valley Elementary. Maybe it's a prank and there never was a real threat.
Are you going gaslight the students about their feelings of being threatened, or are you going to act on the threat, treating it how it is, a threat?
