Oh, they're going after birth control next. There's nothing looney about it. That statement doesn't mean I think they'll be successful. It means I think there will be an attempt. I also didn't exactly define "they".

Consider how slow the campaign to overturn Roe v. Wade has been. Pretty much since the decision was handed down. The time and strategy involved in moving pieces into place to press the levers of power to get that desired outcome and to create a false narrative of widespread support for overturning it made it near unnoticeable.

It will be the same way with restricting birth control. Long and slow. And there actually already IS talk about it. Don't forget the Catholic Church has long opposed birth control. They just haven't had the political clout to force the issue. Now that they've joined forces with Evangelicals, working to overturn Roe, if that alliance holds, we'll start to see more and more rhetoric against birth control.

I'll remind you again that the internet is full of sermons and pastor blogs yammering on about motherhood as a divine mandate from God.
