Obama wasn’t a perfect President and in hindsight, he made his fair share of mistakes. The comments made on that podcast are probably a good example as they were reductive and prejudicial.

Every President we’ve ever had has made mistakes. From Washington to Trump. Every single one.

Also, it’s infantile to think we’ll ever have a perfect President. Not even a President Sanders. Sanders, should he ever attain the office will make his share of mistakes too. That’s life in the real world.

Further, Presidents don’t make laws. They enforce laws. They can make requests of Congress and promote agendas but Congress is not required to oblige Presidential influence. They do so only on precedent and to prevent Presidential retaliation via the Veto to their own agendas.

They have to work together. It does neither branch good to be so combative and antagonistic toward the other. ::Mitch McConnell please take notes:: Compromise means giving the opposing side some of what they want so you can get some of what you want. That should not be viewed as “selling out”. That’s doing your job. Not doing so will necessarily end in burning the whole thing down.

“A house divided against itself will not stand”

Obama wasn’t a perfect President but he was a good one.
