Not true. He talked about his struggles with depression for years before his suicide.

He didn't suicide because he was depressed. That's what people assumed because he had already come forward about it.

He suicided because he has been diagnosed with a condition that was slowly going to rob him of life, Lewy body dementia. He chose to go out on his own terms before he couldn't anymore.

I'm sure depression was a factor there. Had to have been. But you ignore the fact that more than a few people would rather not go through a long slow decline that's ultimately going to end in death. If assisted suicide was an option for people with terminal illnesses, a lot of people would take it.
