Not to beat a dead horse here, but I was reading this thread to my daughter and she had a thought. She's 17, btw.

She says: why would evolution make men unable to control themselves? It makes no sense. Evolution works on both men and women. If evolution did that, it would be bad for the tribe and would only evolve women to avoid men at all costs in response. Or infanticide male babies or abandon them to the tigers.

The only evolution changes that last are the ones that are, that give advantage.

Where's the advantage?

You could use dating apps as proof, right? Birth rates are tanking and seems like nobody wants to date anymore. You (talking to me) said when you were a teenager, the vast majority of the kids couldn't wait to start dating. That's not true anymore. You can track a correlation to the rise in dogging women. That dude with the spreadsheets did it on TikTok, right? (Not sure what she's referring to here, but I bet you could find a correlation).

So where's the advantage? Off hiding in the sediment somewhere waiting on 'evolution' to do it's thang? Be a long wait.

She's starting to get sassy at this point, as teenage girls are wont to do when adults insist they accept things as truth that grossly violate fairness and/or common sense. It's the lack of common sense here that's overheating her noggin so I won't repeat the rest, I'm sure you get the idea. Damn, she's funny though.
