The Bible was used to condone slavery too, let’s not forget. And violence against all BIPOC, LGBTQ+, manifest destiny, genocide of indigenous persons, forced sterilization of the mentally retarded, etc.

The worst horrors of the world have used the Bible and religion as a support for the worst of humanity. As have all other religions.

The fact of the matter is, you don’t have atrocities of other human beings en masse without religion making it okay. Religion is what is used to convince individuals to join in on the violence rather than question it.
