Not so. Deceleration is a reduction in velocity through the input of energy or resistence in a negative direction.

Floating happens when an object's density is less than the medium, in this case air, it's in.

I hate to break it to you, but human beings aren't likely to figure out how to float, despite what Douglas Adams wrote about Arthur Dent, because they're 985 kg m^3 density while air is only 1.293 kg m^3 density.

Hence, that very predictable and laughable sudden stop at the end.
