Not really. White people have a path out of poverty and more of them have familial assistance available. They are not stymied at every turn.

Every time black people do better for themselves as a community, racist people in charge pass laws that block access to wealth and wealth creation. Racists work up a mob and destroy what they’ve built for themselves (Tulsa).

The difference is having a rope to pull yourself out of the hole or having someone hold the rope dangling over your head just out of reach while laughing at you.

Also, you have to look at percentages and per capita numbers rather than straight numbers to get an appropriate picture.

For example, according to a Kaiser Foundation report on poverty, 9% of the white population live in poverty while 22% of the black population live in poverty. Other races are on similar boats for the same reasons.

This is a huge discrepancy. Cause — institutional racism; because if all other things were equal, those percentages would be about the same.
