Your notifications will tell you how many clapped. I get an email notification when 10 leoole have clapped on a story. You get another at 100 people. I'm guessing the next one is at 1000, but I'm not that popular so I can't say for certain.

Of course, since it was his comment that got clapped (right?), he'll be the one gerting those notifications. But you can take an average and see based on your own stuff. It'll give you a ballpark anyway. For me, 169 claps is generally going to be from 5 to 7 people, on the stuff where I'm trying to be funny, or I've said something that resonates.
