Not exactly. More that it's about perceived aocietal value. Men learn very young that they have to earn their worth in society and then they have to fight to keep it whereas women, through that potential to produce life, are born with inherent societal value. It's not women who get sent off to die on battlefields, after all, but men because male bodies are disposable to society. A society could rebuild itself easily if lost 90% of men but would collapse if it lost 20% of women. Blah blah blah.
So that's the thinking. It's obvious bullshit for the most part, derived from a poor understanding of some theoretical calculations, anthropological studies, and biologybut what the hell? It feeds their grievance and belief in patriarchy.
